We’re turning Japanese, I really think so

In a previous blog I posted pictures of a secret (to me) Japanese garden that I discovered while out on my medicinal morning walk.

I’ve been varying my walks to conquer the boredom factor of tramping down the same old roads. So I’ve deliberately popped down hitherto unknown paths and alleyways. It’s amazing how many interesting nooks and crannies there are in my neighbourhood and assorted architectural oddities.

Today I wandered through le Parc de L’hôtel de Ville  and came across a Japanese palm tree. First an Oriental garden and now un arbre: we’re becoming an outpost for Japan!

The park also has some interesting sculptures in bronze and stone. I particularly like the one of the naked woman reclining by the duck pond, and I mean that in an artistic way, not in a gawping manner à la Kate Middleton.

  1. I gotta say, that really doesn’t look like a comfortable position to be lying in.

  2. Jazz,
Maybe she’s sitting on an ant hill!

  3. Interesting sculptures. Hope the walking is getting easier. x

  4. It’s all right, breathe again, the palm is Chinese….

  5. The lady by the duck pond doesn’t look very comfy… as if she’s just slipped on a banana skin and landed on her derriere. I want to give her a blanket.
